Join Yoshiaki Kai for an introduction to Sasaoka Keiko’s Park City (2009) and Fujioka Aya’s Here Goes River (2017), two photobooks by contemporary women photographers that focus on the city of Hiroshima. Kai analyzes the projects within two larger contexts: the male-dominated tradition of street photography; and the history of visual representations of Hiroshima since the atomic bombing of August 6, 1945.
